Fr. Tom Odorizzi, C.O., Pastor

I am a native of New Jersey, the last of four children of my Slovak mother and Tyrolean father; they have been living in Florida since 1988.  After college at Virginia Tech and four years working at the former RCA Solid State Division in Bridgewater, I entered the seminary. Five years later, in 1992, I was granted the gift and privilege of sharing in the priesthood of Jesus Christ as an ordained priest.

Between then and now I have served in two parishes in South Brunswick and then one in East Brunswick. Our Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri was formally established in 1998. We began serving in campus ministry at Rutgers University in 2001. The Oratory moved to St. Peter the Apostle church in January 2006. Since then I have had the privilege of serving as pastor for this diverse faith community.

St. Peter’s is my first pastorate. My time here since November 2005 has been filled with many opportunities to learn and develop as Pastor. I am grateful for the patience and support of the parishioners, who have been teachers and friends, helping me to become a better servant and man of God.  Although I have been serving here for close to seven years, in many ways I feel like I am just beginning. A lot of great things are happening and I now have a tangible sense of excitement about our parish life. I hope and pray that all parish members and anyone who wishes to become a member of our family will enter into all that the Spirit is doing in our midst.
