Eucharistic Adoration at St. Peter's
St. Peter's Parish offers various regular opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration. We encourage everyone to take some time apart from the noise and cares of daily life to connect with our Lord present on the altar.
Forty Hours Devotion - March 4-6
We are excited to announce the return of the Forty Hours Devotion, a time of extended Eucharistic Adoration popularized by the founder of the Oratory, St. Philip Neri, from March 4 - 6, 2018. The featured preacher will be the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Celano, Vicar for Administration, Diocese of Metuchen, and former pastor of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish, Bridgewater.
Weekly Adoration Opportunities
In collaboration with the Catholic Center at Rutgers, we are offering the opportunity for Adoration in the Catholic Center Chapel:
Mondays from 1-10 PM,
Fridays from 8 AM - 5 PM,
for Lent, Wednesdays from 1-10 PM (beginning February 21).
Everyone is welcome to drop in at your convenience, or you can sign up for a time slot online. This helps us to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended.
Monthly First Friday Holy Hour
St. Peter's Young Adults sponsor a Holy Hour every First Friday at 7:30 PM in the Church (except during Lent, when we pray the Stations of the Cross at 7 PM). This time of prayer includes a reading and reflection, silent prayer & praise, and concludes with Benediction at 8:30.
Monthly Sunday Holy Hour
The New Brunswick Oratory sponsors a Holy Hour every Third Sunday of the month at 4:00 PM in the Church (in June, on the fourth Sunday). This Holy Hour includes readings from Scripture and Oratorian sources (often the life of St. Philip Neri), a reflection by a member of the Secular Oratory, and music, and concludes with Benediction at 5:00.
